"As delicate as butterfly wings
In our independence
We sanctify each other with life
Each breath a blessing
A restoration, an act of healing."

-Shirley Kobar

Hello Friends,

I hope this message finds you well, as we move into the Autumn season. It is a time for Harvest and to return to the basic principles of Tai Chi/Jin Shin Jyutsu, finding center, non-striving, compassion, generosity, open heartedness, and stillness.
See below for my Fall class schedule and office hours.

This Fall we will be returning to basics and explore the Faith Heart / Mind Sutra and the Zen Ox Herding pictures, looking at Tai Chi as a path to quieting the mind and opening
the heart.

In the opening ceremony of the Olympics in China, there were 2008 people all doing Tai Chi together, simultaneously moving, and illustrating the belief in harmony between nature and human kind. It also demonstrated the belief that inner peace and stillness leads to outer harmony. It was breath-taking and inspiring to see such fluid movements like wind and water.

“A new study, published in the July issue of Sleep, has found that the gentle, flowing movements of tai chi can help older people sleep better. They fell asleep more quickly, slept longer, awoke fewer times in the night, and had less daytime drowsiness.”
-The Washington Post

To learn more about the benefits of regular Tai Chi practice, you can visit my teacher, Chungliang Al Huang’s updated website: www.livingtao.org.

Kindest Wishes,

The highest good is like water.
Water gives life to the ten thousand things and does not strive.
It flows in places men reject and so is like the Tao.

In dwelling, be close to the land.
In meditation, go deep in the heart.
In dealing with others, be gentle and kind.
In speech, be true.
In business, be competent.
In action, watch the timing.

No fight: No blame.”
-from Lao Tsu Tao Te Ching
