Fall 2007

Dear Tai Chi Friends,

Cynthia Ghiron, M.A.
http://www.cynthiaghiron.com/

I hope this letter finds you well. Enclosed is the fall Tai Chi schedule.

I have just returned from my Tai Chi teacher’s 70th birthday celebration, and 30th anniversary of his Living Tao foundation. Artists, poets, dancers, and Tai Chi teachers from around the world came to celebrate the joy of Tai Chi and to honor Chungliang Al Huang.

I am eager to share the wisdom that I gathered from this event with you. Chungliang used the metaphor of being like a bamboo flute - opening, clearing out, and being a hollow vessel for our Tai Chi to flow through us, like the music that flows through the bamboo flute. He also talked about Star Wars and how we can each strengthen the force within us through our daily Tai Chi practice.

“We can be spacious, yet full of loving kindness: full of compassion, yet serene. Live like the strings of a fine instrument – not too taut and not too loose."
–Buddah's Little Instruction Book, Jack Kornfield

One of my returning Tai Chi students reminds us to experience the feelings of the Tai Chi movements and to slow down, rather than getting caught up in the technique and to allow Tai Chi to bring us into the present moment. Coming back to the moment, we find that still being in the midst of our transition into the autumn season.

The latest Tai Chi research shows that Tai Chi helps people with shingles and parkinson’s diseases, by strengthening the immune system and increasing flexibility and movement.
I encourage you to join me for a Tai Chi class and/or a Jin Shin Jyustu or Reiki session this Fall. I have office hours in Cherry Creek on Wednesdays, and in Boulder Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays through Saturdays. I look forward to sharing these contemplative practices in this Autumn in the Year of the Fire Boar! Finally, my new DVD of the Tai Chi form is now available at $25 per copy. Please contact me if you're interested.

Take Care,

“There is no need to run outside for better seeing, nor peer from a window. Rather, abide at the center of your being, for the more you leave it,
the less you learn.”
